FBI Director Kash Patel has - on at least two occasions - ordered the elite security detail protecting his girlfriend, 27-year-old country music performer Alexis Wilkins, to escort one of her allegedly inebriated friends home after a night of partying in Nashville, according to three people with knowledge of the incidents who spoke with MS NOW.  The Agents assigned to protect Wilkins, members of a SWAT Unit usually assigned to the FBI Field Office in Nashville, objected to diverting from their assignment, but Patel insisted they do so at Wilkins’ request and, in one case, called the leader of Wilkins’ security detail and yelled at him to do so, sparking increasing concerns of a misuse of tactical resources within the FBI.

I interviewed Mamdani multiple times over the next year, including amid a surge of Islamophobic attacks in the final weeks of the mayoral campaign.

BREAKING NEWS ALERT

As the Senate advances a plan to end the government shutdown, what happens now? As the ongoing government shutdown was poised to begin in late September, three members of the Senate Democratic conference — Nevada’s Catherine Cortez Masto, Pennsylvania’s John Fetterman and Maine’s Angus King — broke party ranks and voted with the Republican majority to prevent the breakdown. That gave GOP leaders 55 votes, five short of the 60-vote threshold. At that point, the Republican plan, in a nutshell, could be summarized in one word: wait.
