DETROIT – Local United Auto Workers union leaders approved a tentative agreement Sunday with Ford Motor that includes $8.1 billion in new plant investments by the company, $5,000 ratification bonuses and other economic gains such as 25% compounded wage increases and improved profit-sharing payments. The 4 ½-year tentative agreement, which was announced Wednesday, will now be rolled out to 57,000 UAW-Ford members for regional informational meetings and then voting, the union said Sunday. The UAW did not release an expectation for when voting, which typically takes a couple weeks, will conclude.

The Times of Israel reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a news conference Saturday night that an exchange of all Palestinians jailed for security offenses for the captives held in Gaza was among the options Israel is considering. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told reporters that intensifying Israeli attacks was the best way to free captives. “The more we hit out at [Hamas], we know that they will be willing to come to some kind of agreement,” Gallant said, “and we will be able to bring our dearly beloved hostages home.” Negotiators said they remained hopeful. The former U.S. official said the talks were at a "temporary impasse." The diplomat with knowledge of the talks added, "The escalation has slowed down talks, but they’re still ongoing."

But on Sunday, Chutkan signed an opinion that lifted her Oct. 20 stay, essentially putting the gag order back into effect. The order prohibits Trump from making statements about potential witnesses or disparaging comments about the prosecutors, court staff or support personnel. Special counsel Jack Smith's team asked for the gag order to "protect the integrity of the trial and the jury pool" from being influenced by Trump's statements about the case, which was filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Trump's legal team did not immediately respond to a request for comment. In a statement on his social media platform, Truth Social, the former president said: "The Corrupt Biden Administration just took away my First Amendment Right To Free Speech. NOT CONSTITUTIONAL! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN…"
